Googledocs doesn't like me right now so I can't fancy results post, but we're pretty sure Agent won - he was fastest on all 5 stages we ran. I forgot to turn down my feedback which increased the hard mode factor for me. Not sure if tonights variety of stages was much harder overall than the last gravel rally we did, but it sure felt like it. Also I wadded my car up pretty good last turn of stage 3, in retrospect that was pretty close to coughing up second with the almost 10 seconds that cost me.

after the first couple stints, the hard mode seemed to get turned up. had the most trouble with the downhill, off-camber turns. there were also several double switchbacks that i have never seen before. lots of excitment getting through those at a good speed.

was lots of fun and had a sticky sweaty shirt by the end. hopefully, after GT-A ends, we'll get a few more racers out here. thanks for letting me host, and thanks clacksman for tabulating the times.

see ya next time for some offroad fun ... :-)

only had about 45minutes prep, and the car was so-so ok.

tranny - default/custom - was pretty good, but could be better tweaking 2nd, especially 3rd and 4th
brakes - 3/1, but 2/1 might be better .... was locking the fronts too much
Torq diff - 45/55
LSD - default - this needs work but didnt get to it
Suspen - rh +8's and prob needs more, damper 3's i think, lots of rear toe ... +30's i think

I had a stock gearbox, 2/1 brakes, 50/50 split, don't remember LSDs, suspension lifted up all the way with soft damping and no toe. Didn't feel nearly as good as the Subaru RM from last time, but possibly not bad for a street car.

yeah, the subaru was fun and this one is too with more work. i usually prep more for something like this, but the g-series took alot of my free time, and monday was a break night. something i need to work on for next time is how to get the golf to rotate under power coming out of the turn. maybe an extra 10hp with a broke in engine will help, but i need the rear to come around more. i tried 40/60 on the torq diff, but it was too much on the high speed gradual corners, and 45/55 is not enough on the tighter corners. 43/57 would be perfect i think ... lol!!

i need practice is all, just to learn what the car wants

Get rid of the +toe in the back?

The rally spreadsheet won't work for me (just updated from googledocs to google drive, nothing works right atm) so here's the stage times.

Agent 3'21.537 2'26.633 3'24.924 3'59.419 4'50.143
me 3'22.290 2'30.901 3'34.707 4'04.666 4'56.310
biker 3'24.094 2'32.839 3'25.585 4'11.068 5'00.293

distances in km 6.8341 5.8599 6.9525 8.2812 9.4112

that was the last thing i added after you left the practice room. got in a 1/2 lap and seemed to be ok, so i left it in for the races. i'll make some practice time and play with it all again
