Pretty sure that was the real deal... He certainly had the pace. No bio info on his page.

The real Matt Plumb lives in Rhode Island, this guy's part of the New England Club.

iRacing was released in 2008. This guy's been a member since 2007.

Yep it's him! I've race him at Spa in MX-5's some time ago. I've also raced one of the Taylor boys, I think it was Jordan, and I raced Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

It's so darn cool to see people's real names, especially when you know it's a pro. Cool

Congrats! Cool

Also: LOL Oval racing... During the 10pm Pacific Street Stock race, Stan Rogers cuts the grass on the infield inside the start finish straight twice, slides up in front of me, catches my front license plate, spins in to a wall. Contact 0x comes up, so light the contact. Then he hits the wall, 0x -> 2x. Then he hits another driver, 0x -> 4x. Dude then times his pit exit to meet me in turn 1, deliberately slows down (all seen in telemetry) on the inside line, then cranks his wheel right, full on sideswiping me and taking me in to the wall and over on to my roof. Contact 4x... lol! Thumbs Up! clap Laughing

I love these clowns. Submit my first IR. popcorn

I'm going to stay up a bit later and do the 11:00pm race... Sleep

lol. If you're not patient enough to get wrecked a few times, stay off the ovals.

I had a guy who I've seen quite a bit of try to go around the outside through the quad-oval and I hadn't started turning enough, so his fender caught my rear and spun us both. Shit happens, and I wasn't even mad, but he freaked and tried to blame me. I laughed

I've had some great races from the pits there though.

Been running the SRF. Took a big SR hit the last few days trying to get in to too many different cars, so I need to settle on something for a bit.

Pretty much. Wrecks are going to happen, it's Oval racing and you're racing against guys who are, quite frankly, terrible. Took 2 SR hits in a row, going to get back after it tomorrow. 11pm race had more incidents than I'd seen in a long time and even racing from the pits, it was a roll of the dice. Almost every single corner there were guys running in to each other. Funniest bit was the guy who was preaching loud at the start of the race about how to drive clean ended up sweeping 3 of us off the road because "he got loose". Which is really impressive since he was running solo when he spun, and the Street Stock car drives just about like a slot car... Laughing came up the track in turn "2" after spinning in turn 1 and just kept spinning. Pinball... Hilarious. Following the race, it was all guys screaming F-bombs at each other. I love Rookie oval racing! popcorn

For you stats geeks....check it out!

iSeason. I just loaded up my first 3 races in the Stang from Laguna. It spits out some super interesting stuff. I'm nerdy enough that I think I'm going to load my entire Mustang season from Season 1.

Got my first win today - MX-5 at Laguna Seca.
Racing has been much cleaner for me with no rookies.
I'll be in class C after one more race.

Congrats robiker! Was really hoping someone would say that about the higher classes.

Congrats! It's a nice feeling, isn't it?

The higher classes are much better. Even the higher splits of the Mazda cup are quite good. I did a race at Okayama last night and was in the 1st split. I started 9th and finished 8th. The 7 lead cars were all a bit too fast for me, but I usually pick up a spot or two from crashes... not so in that race. They all ran clean and fairly close.

The best I've seen is in the Spec Racer Ford. It's a bit nervous at the limit, so people are fairly cautious and courteous around other cars. Of course on Sunday night I caused a massive wreck on the first lap, but there wasn't any name calling or whining. I apologized and everyone raced on to salvage the best finish they could. I was phased and spun three more times before I called it quites due to fatigue. Shame cause Rack was in that race with too.

I've tested the SRF using some of the advise and setup in this thread:

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/2022116.page

The lift-oversteer actually helps get the car turned, but you have to be prepared to get back on the gas to keep the rear from coming around too far.
Was really having fun with it by the end of my test session. Can't wait to race it.

Indeed. It's a great lesson in throttle control and I was much more confident in the MX-5 after getting out of the SRF.

But... it's at Brad's Hatch this week... The track write up in the forum describes T1 a 'one of the most frightening corners you'll encounter'. I'll be doing a lot of testing before I race there this week.

Mustang is at Road America. Need to learn that place before I race there. Got 10 or so laps in already. Lovely track that will take a while to get fast on.

Rolex Series (DP+Mustang) is at the Glen (bus stop, no boot) this week, and it's class C, so I'll be getting my MPR in there this week.

I've got Oky short figured out, so I'll be in and out of the Mazda cup.

The iRNC at Summit Point - Jefferson Reverse can take a hike. That track is a hateful little thing.

The Grand Touring Cup is at Laguna, so I'll probably run my Soulstice there if I'm not driving well elsewhere. Tested a few laps there and will need some setup work to keep the tail in line down through Rainey.

I won't be doing an Oval until the class D National Fixed series, in the National Impala, gets to Charlotte in week 6, unless I end up buying more tracks before then.
